Keiron’s thought’s on the LAG Tramontane 
On first glance I’m immediately drawn to this guitar as it has a very deep coloured high gloss solid cedar top, with quite an attractive eclipse round the sound hold and a gorgeous mahogany rounded binding around the edges of the guitar.
This guitar has some of LAG’s classic love or hate features, such as it’s peculiar shaped headstock, angled tuning heads and no fret markers. I personally love all of these features, it gives the guitar a clean, unspoiled look which straight away says that LAG are not trying to attract you with masses of eye catching inlays or shiny bits, but they know the tone will pull you in.
I strum my first chord and WOW! Seriously I’m not over exaggerating. This LAG has one of the most deep and richest sound that I’ve played on any guitar within the £300 bracket. Chords sound rich, with a fat low end tone and finger picking just seems to shimmer when played on this.
My opinion on the LAG Tramontane is it’s the best sounding guitar within a budget of £300 and tonally I think competes with a lot of higher priced guitars.
John Vince’s thoughts on the Yamaha Arius YDP 161
The (Yamaha) Arius YDP 161 is probably one of the most realistic feeling digital pianos currently on the market with a very similar weighting to Clavinovas.
It’s upgraded speaker cabinet has a noticeably warmer tone than earlier models. With optional reverb and dual voice options you can layer both piano voices together and feel like you’re playing in a large concert hall. You can also record your original musical ideas on its built in 2-track recorder.
In my opinion it is the best buy for the money.
